EASTER FAMILY FUN-DRAISER RETURNS TO LEECHWELL GARDEN

On Easter Monday, 21st April, the Leechwell Garden Association Management Committee will host a Family Easter Egg Hunt to raise vital funds for the upkeep of Leechwell Garden, Totnes’ cherished community green space.

Families are invited to arrive at the Garden from 11am, with the first clue for the Easter Egg Hunt revealed at 11.15am. A £1 suggested donation per participant will help raise much-needed funds to support the garden’s continued care and maintenance.

Leechwell Gardens There will also be refreshments – tea, coffee, squash and biscuits – for sale, all available for a voluntary donation.

“Leechwell Garden is a special place for so many of us in Totnes,” says Claire Morley, Chair of the LGAMC. “It is a sanctuary in the heart of town where people of all ages come to relax, play, and connect with nature. We want to ensure it continues to thrive long into the future, and that means raising funds and welcoming new volunteers who care about the garden as much as we do.”

As well as raising funds, the committee is also seeking new volunteers – both to help in the garden itself and to support the running of the committee.

A new volunteer gardening session has recently launched on Tuesdays, with volunteers welcome to come along any time between 12pm and 3pm to lend a hand and learn new skills.

“Volunteering doesn’t have to be a huge time commitment,” adds Claire. “Even a few hours a month can make a real difference – whether you’ve got green fingers or just want to help keep this wonderful space running smoothly behind the scenes.”
