I thought I’d try & write something uplifting & inspiring

I’d show you photos of daffodils & snowdrops & you would feel enthused & not be feeling like you wanted to bury your head in the endless mud & puddles that are actually gargantuan sink holes that either your car goes over & busts its tires or you unwittingly walk into & are sprayed with crap & derision.

Snow drops are hardy little beauties that will pop up in forest floors or on the top of mossy walls. They spell enthusiasm, stoicism & Spring.

Daffodills

For a small flower they have many symbolizisms:

Symbol of hope, purity, light, remembrance, Imbolc festival & transformed from snow to snowdrops by an angel….also they contain the chemical galantamine used to help brain function in Alzheimer’s.
So suddenly we’ll all be seen squirrelling away with bunches of snowdrops from our hedgerows.

Ok, that’s them explained.

Now daffodils:

Hope and resilience and Spring.
The bulb contains galanatamine, again, and haemanthamine which may help fight cancer.

What clever flowers.

Are you feeling inspired? I feel uplifted and in awe of nature’s power over us, such tiny beings. Then I see on Instagram strap lines over a dancing female in a field saying “Breathe into Winter wellness”, c’mon. I tend to lose my new found positivity.

But the facts are we survived February. It’s a miracle. I’m not sure about SAD but I know by the end of February I am beginning to grind along my day like a derailed  train car.

Things I do to encourage wellbeing.

Read books, watch good dramas, walk, preferably with a dog, if you don’t own one use ‘Borrow my Doggy’, I’ve been allowed to walk some wonderful four legged creatures, take a movement class, currently I’m doing Feldenkrais with Judit Meixner at Bowden House, a Watercolour class with Shadan at ‘Designs Cafe’ in Cider Press, find 3 things every day to be grateful for & I hope for the best.

Motto of the day: never set the alarm without your glasses on! Otherwise you’ll find yourself being woken at 6 am, shooting out of bed like a rocket and sitting in the kitchen having breakfast thinking this is taking a long time. That’s because you’ve been sitting there for 2 hrs, totally unnecessarily.

I think I better go and chew on some snowdrops!
