Dartmoor Rock Band Gravity Machine to Release Protean New Single “Ally The Truth”

Described by some as “the best cult band you’ve never heard of”, the Devon-based alternative rock band Gravity Machine have announced their kaleidoscopic new single, “Ally The Truth”.

Since releasing their debut album, “Red”, in 2020 to widespread critical acclaim, the collective have issued a series of singles and performed a handful of live shows, with recent releases clocking up thousands of views on YouTube.

Hailing from deep in the Dartmoor hills and the bohemian town of Totnes, the band are committed to the highest musical and artistic integrity, drawing on influences that range from alt-folk and electronica to hard rock and metal — all of which are at play in their latest offering.

Ally The Truth has been far from a trivial undertaking; in fact, it took several years to complete. This was partly due to our desire to capture the necessary depth of dramatic tension, and partly because we wanted to preserve the simple essence of the emotions at its core — namely, the beauty of human interaction at its best.

Ally The Truth” is a passionate and sensitive epic that traces the emotional landscape of a relationship — from first meeting, through conflict and drama, to eventual connection. At its heart, it is an attempt to offer hope to the world.

With guest appearances from renowned drummer Mike Malyan (Monuments/TesseracT) and cellist Ben Roberts (Silver Moth), and featuring violinist Flo Fields and backing vocalist Beatrix Hammond, the song moves through a variety of moods, from intense to delicate, before settling into a stunning harmonic outro led by lead singers Yunala Songeaver and Parker.

The single will be available exclusively through Bandcamp from 18th June and will not be released on streaming platforms. Gravity Machine’s Bandcamp page for the single can be found here: https://gravitymachine.bandcamp.com/album/ally-the-truth

Following the release, the band will retreat to their lair to finalise recordings for their long-awaited second album. In the meantime here’s a previous track from the Machine…
