SoundArt Radio Hosts a Media weekend
SoundArt presents a weekend of walks, broadcasts, workshops, panel discussions, audio production and nice food at the new Soundart Radio studio on the Dartington Hall Estate.
This is part of The Media Transformed, an initiative of the Media Reform Coalition supported by Joseph Rowntree; and Futures on Air funded by UKRI which is a collaboration between South-West based Universities and Community Radio stations.
The weekend is an opportunity to meet, learn from one another, and imagine future collaborations. Attendees are invited to participate in as many of the activities that they please, or take time
to walk, think, find quiet time, or chat. There will be open slots for radio broadcasts and other activities which can be signed up for on the day.

Food will be prepared on site each day, you don’t need to bring anything to contribute. Communal food will be vegan by default, with cheese etc on the side, and a gluten free option. There are also cafes and a pub on site at Dartington Hall if you want to eat something different, and shops down the hill in the village (about 20 minutes walk away). They will have a kitchen at the studio where attendees can make tea and cook any time, and we always have fruit and biscuits available.
The event will have a bar on Friday and Saturday evening with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
The schedule includes some open sessions, where people can initiate an activity, offer a skillshare or discuss ideas. There are also free slots in the radio schedule so attendees can broadcast a show of their choice.
On Saturday morning attendese are invited to make a short presentation about their organisation or project. On Saturday Afternoon there will be a discussion panel with representatives of Impress, Totnes Pulse and Resonance FM
Last week Peter Shearn of Totnes Pulse was a guest on the Soundart Media Show and this can be revisited on the player below.
