Show The Love – Totnes!

On February 14th Totnes and Bridgetown are joining forces to ‘Show The Love’ of our planet.

It’s not just a local thing; this is a nationwide Climate Coalition initiative. On that day throughout the country people of all walks of life will be turning their hearts green (the symbol of Show The Love). Inspired by their experience with Extinction Rebellion on Waterloo Bridge last year, members of the Totnes WI have organised an inspiring day of talks and activities in St Mary’s Church Totnes from 10.30am to 3.30pm and with the help of volunteers and Bridgetown Alive, an uplifting evening of food, music and spoken word in St John’s Bridgetown from 6pm onwards.

The daytime event is FREE. We hope that people will come along, feel inspired, ask questions, take part in workshops and quizzes, make pledges and have fun! FREE ENTRY from 10.30am Keynote Speakers from 11am: 11am Guy Singh Watson, Riverford Farm, 12.15pm Dr Kerry Howell, Marine Biologist-Deep Ocean Scientist, 1.30pm Emma Rendle, Oceanographer.

There will be workshops and stalls from The Woodland TrustNetwork of Wellbeing – NOWTRESOCT.A.T Totnes Against Trash, Eco Church, The Science, Forrest Bathing, Share Shed and Extinction Rebellion Totnes, Fair Trade and  local schools.

Tickets for the evening event are £10/8 and available online from https://www.wegottickets.com/event/492724 or by texting or calling 07832 200980 to reserve. All proceeds will go towards planting trees in Bridgetown, many thanks to Bridgetown Alive.

The evening line up reads like a mini festival! The amazing artists who are donating their time in support of Show The Love include: Reg Meuross, Harbottle & Jonas, Ben Morgan-Brown, Lily Mackay, Jackie Juno, The Totnes Pop Up Choir, Heartwave Chorus and Julie Mullen. Rob Hopkins will also be inspiring us and signing his book ‘From What Is to What If’ in the break. There will be glorious food on sale from 6pm thanks to The Kitchen Table, refreshments too, and the show itself will begin at 7.30pm.
