Sarah Swims For Sirona

Sarah, a mum from Kingsbridge recently swam 12,000 metres in just one month for local equine based charity, Sirona Therapeutic Horsemanship, based on the Dartington Estate, outside Totnes. Her Go Fund Me page has raised an amazing £375 towards providing equine and animal assisted sessions at Sirona for vulnerable young people with the aim of increasing well-being and mental and physical health benefits.

Sirona holds a very special place in our family’s heart. My eldest son, Jack, was autistic and struggled to regulate his emotions. Sirona brought Jack so much happiness and I want as many as possible other young people to find the road to mental and physical wellbeing with the aid of Chapas, Toro and of course Hannah and her human team!

The team at Sirona are also raising funds to help more people access their help by holding an Open Morning from 10am -1pm on Tuesday 28th October this Autumn half term. With a herd of 8 ponies, goats and chickens, there are a lot of friendly faces to greet you at the home of Sirona on the beautiful Dartington Estate.

Sirona have a fun packed morning planned with horseshoe painting, games and other activities in store plus a chance to Sponsor A Pony as the perfect pony substitute Christmas gift, buy pony Christmas cards or official Sirona merchandise or browse the bric a brac stall.

Jules Roberts, new Marketing and Events and Referral Co-ordinator at Sirona is hoping for another bumper visitor record following their sunny June Open Day. “ This Autumn Open Morning will be a wonderful opportunity for members of the public to visit us here at Sirona, meet our animals plus find out a bit more about what we do.

All proceeds from the day go towards supporting the costs for Sirona to provide equine and animal-assisted therapeutic sessions for vulnerable young people to improve their health and well being.
