On October 5th 1985, I moved to Totnes. On that evening I walked into Borough Park and met Don Chalcroft walking out with a tennis racquet in his hand.

I joined the tennis club and was amazed by the cross section of Totnes folk who were members. The club was nothing like the exclusive stereotype of a Tennis Club. Over the next forty years , the club has gone from strength to strength so it seemed an opportune moment to hear more about the club from the outgoing Chairperson, Francis Porter.
