Beyond the rubble

Steps of Hope Uk tour comes to Ashburton Arts Centre on December 2nd, a powerful night of Palestinian music, dance, poetry and film in support of children in Gaza.

This winter, hope is on the move as Amos Trust presents Beyond The Rubble: Steps of Hope —  a UK-wide tour celebrating Palestinian culture and resilience through music, dance, poetry and film. The tour will visit Ashburton Arts Centre on Tuesday 2nd December 2025, with doors opening at 7pm and the performance beginning at 7.30pm.

The evening will feature Dr Abdelfattah Abusrour and a group of young dabke dancers and musicians from the Alrowwad Cultural and Arts Society, which was founded in Aida Refugee Camp, Bethlehem, Alrowwad aims to empower young people through arts, culture and education to tell their own stories and build a better future. Together they present their new production, Anfaas (Breaths) — an evocative blend of rhythm, movement and storytelling that shares experiences of loss, love and defiant joy.

Described as “Beautiful Resistance in action”, Anfaas captures the spirit of Palestinian life and creativity amid ongoing hardship. Each performance offers UK audiences an opportunity to engage with stories of hope and humanity from communities living under occupation. All proceeds from the tour will support Amos Trust’s Christmas Appeal, funding Alrowwad’s work with young people in Bethlehem and providing trauma support and education for children in Gaza. Amos Trust is a small, creative human rights organisation based in the UK that works with grassroots partners in Palestine, South Africa, Nicaragua, Burundi, and India to challenge injustice and build hope.
