Totnes Caring Calling for Help with the Bus

A drive with Totnes Caring is so much more than a journey…. It is a lifeline to so many

Totnes Caring Community Transport Service supports people over 55 years old who have a whole range of mobility challenges caused by age, disability, and ill health.

Totnes Caring LogoAn important element to support people to stay as healthy and happy as possible is that they get safely to their essential health appointments and activities which benefit their wellbeing, reduce loneliness and isolation. Totnes Caring volunteer drivers transported clients to a total of 5589 health and social appointments last year using their own cars, the Totnes Caring minibus and wheelchair accessible vehicle.

Totnes Caring’s minibus transport clients to the social activities that help to keep them well and socially connected. Most of the clients who enjoy these activities would not be able to attend if the local charity did not provide transport. These activities include weekly lunch clubs, memory cafes, art groups, carers groups, living with loss group as well as special events.

Totnes Caring MinibusFuel and maintenance of the Caring bus costs £5,000 per year alone. The group are fighting to keep the much loved minibus running and are launching a ‘Boost our Bus’ campaign to try to raise £5,000.
