The Totnes Pulse wins a chance to pitch!
A list of budding entrepreneurs, c.i.c’s and businesses has been whittled down by Jay Tompt and his team at the REconomy centre to pitch at the 12th annual Community of Dragons. And we’re delighted to announce that The Totnes Pulse will be one of them!
It’s e . This community gathering has been aiming at bringing into being a resilient, ecological, just, convivial local economy since 2012.
Successful projects
To date, 48 projects have pitched and over 300 people have played the role of ‘community dragon’ who have made over 1200 ‘investments’.

This years’ event is on May 16th and everyone is welcome to participate in this annual gathering full of solidarity, reciprocity, and positive change. Everyone has a stake in their local economy and everyone can be an investor, too. Entrepreneurs need all kinds of support. Financial capital is important, but so are other forms of support, from expert mentoring to child care. Entrepreneurs supported by the community do better. The economy does better, too.
For that reason, I’m in!

Peter Shearn and Jim Funnell will be standing up to do a short pitch on behalf of the Totnes Pulse that will hopefully convince attendees to join in and take part in our future adventures! Also pitching will be singer and entertainer Mama Tokus, who is gaining support for her ‘Get-Together‘ bringing people together through collective joy. Andrew Gilhespy from The Fresh Flour Company making pasta, flour and other products using sustainable wheat sources. Finally, Steve Rogers and Gerard Couper from E-cocars who have been successfully expanding the car share possibilities for several years now.
Re-conomy say “we were inspired by the idea that if we created a space for creative change makers, social and green entrepreneurs, catalysts and enablers, investors and other supporters, something good would happen.”
