With its roots firmly grounded in anti-fascism, anti-racism, and anti-capitalism, Devon Transformed embraces class-inclusivity, intersectionality, and multiculturalism. The festival recognizes the need for collective rise to bring about changes for the global majority. Organized by a dedicated team of volunteers from across the Southwest, the festival welcomes all who believe there is a need for transformation and seek to empower themselves through strategic and collective action.

“At Devon Transformed, we believe in the power of people coming together to bring about real, lasting change,” said the festival organizers. “This festival is more than just an event; it’s a space for diverse groups and communities to converge, share skills, and join forces for a better future.”

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Dartington, Totnes, Devon, the festival will take place in a community-led brewery, a woodland event space, with camping. Additional accommodation options in town cater to those who prefer glamping over camping. Attendees can expect a program that calls for radical transformative solutions to various societal issues. The festival offers a diverse range of activities, including political rallies, panel discussions, workshops, socialist speed-dating, consciousness-raising activities, art installations, cinema, co-creative experiences, and stalls.

“We’ve curated an exciting smorgasbord of intellectual stimulation and creative expression,” the organizers said. “From drum circles and folk music to theatre, improv workshops, and storytelling, there’s something for everyone, making it a truly family-friendly and inclusive experience.”

Devon Transformed will also emphasize informal dialogues, networking opportunities, and community-building activities, creating an environment where ideas and dreams can flourish. For those unable to attend in person, an online element will ensure remote participation and engagement in the transformative discussions.

The festival in intended to serve as a springboard for collective action, empowering working communities locally and striving for a more sustainable and regenerative planet. Through processes of direct democracy, Devon Transformed aims to support progressive policies and ensure the voices of grassroots perspectives are given a higher profile.
