There be dragons! Local Entrepreneur Forum on May 15th!
On the 15th of May the Local Entrepreneur Forum (LEF) will be celebrating their 13th anniversary in The Royal Seven Stars in Totnes from 6pm. Join to see what’s growing in the local economy and see how you can support it.
This year four local projects will be pitching their ideas to a Dragons Den style ‘Community of Dragons’ looking to invest in a number of ways, from financial investment to volunteering, knowledge or equipment lending. Last year the wonderful Totnes Pulse itself pitched!
Here’s a glimpse into the four amazing projects on the stage!Sail Trade South West is taking a slightly different approach to sustainable food production, by sourcing high quality produce and shipping it using wind power. Their maritime heritage allows them to bring sustainable produce to the South West by the power of the wind.
Cormorant Charcuterie is a local company dedicated to crafting fresh sausages and curing fine Salumi air-dried meats. Collaborating with local regenerative farming schemes allows them to produce organic and sustainable produce for locals to enjoy.
Sticking to the food theme, Resilient Lives is a community based project focusing on mens health and Pizzas. Their Pizza Pirates nurtures individuals through the careful art of crafting tasty pizza to help build skills, resilience and hope. Dough Bro’s is another pizza focused project which creates a local space for men’s mental health.
School Farm CSA is a local community supported agriculture scheme (CSA) that focuses on bringing local food to local people. The farm is supported by three pillars of education, volunteering and membership, allowing locals to get involved at different levels, furthering community involvement.
These projects will join 50+ similar projects including the Totnes Pulse, that local people have invested in through previous LEF events, hoping to build their businesses in a sustainable way for the good of the community.
