The Totnes Play Parks – A review
MY REVIEW OF SOME OF THE TOTNES PLAY PARKS
by Summer Gee (9 Years Old)

Leechwell Gardens – Is a big open space with a sandpit and a pond. The climbing frame is a lot of fun with two slides and excellent monkey bars. The rubber runway is also very enjoyable. This park is a lot of fun for little kids and older ones too. It’s a park for the whole family and very well used.
(score 8.5)
Borough Park – The play park has a lot of stuff but it is mostly for little kids. Outside the play park there is the big sports field of Borough Park, which is great to run about in. On the play equipment, there is a lot of graffiti. This play park is very well used.
(score 7)

Weston Lane – This was quite empty of people and small. There was a basketball court and a swing for all ages but not very good monkey bars. Only three rungs and I love monkey bars.
(score 6)
Parkers Way – There were no people using this play park which was concerning because it was designed for older children and had some quite challenging equipment (but no monkey bars!). There was a little play house but it would have been better if there had been a zipline too.
(score 7.5)
But try these play parks in Totnes for yourself and see for yourself.
Are there more that could be reviewed?
Excellent article – thank you Summer! There’s a natural-looking playground in the green field above Baltic Wharf, it would great to know your score for that one. What other equipment would you like to see in Totnes? I don’t think there is enough for older children and young people. Do you think a new skatepark would be a good addition to Borough Park?
