Id love to know more about what former trustees views are on the future…

I hope Dartington has a bright future. It would be good if more effort was made to involve the trust’s membership. It doesn’t feel like it’s very transparent.
Also, I think a visitor’s guide book is needed. I used to be a regular visitor to Mount Edgecumbe which has a beautifully produced little guide book with recommended walks and lots of info on history and nature. It would be great to have something similar for Dartington. I suspect many tourists who visit have no idea the woodland and riverside walks exist.

I think it is very telling that the letter says that the estate’s local stakeholders are local councillors and local businesses. No mention of the local community. This certainly confirms my impression that the Dartington management does not give two hoots (the polite version) about including and serving local people. What a shame and indictment, so much more could be achieved with local people on board.

I think a flying f*** is what you wanted to say…

And talking of the two hoots…..

I think The owls have have all moved on to Sharpham…

Which has an amazing rewilding programme going on…🤔

This is an unbelievable pack of lies! To say you saved 200 jobs and created more! You treated staff appallingly and put them on zero hours contracts forcing more than 100 to resign!

Well, thank you!!! I’m so delighted by the release of this letter. Congratulations to all involved in getting this wonderful place back on its feet, and to the chairman and ceo for their restraint and determination in the face of fierce local opposition and widespread negativity. The revelation of the actions of a former trustee willing to buy the estate for £1 in the event of it going bust is utterly disgraceful, but sadly not a complete shock in the light of the trust’s history over the past few decades. I am proud to have placed my faith in this new team, and deeply pleased it was not misplaced. I shall be cheering loudly this summer!
