A New Saturday Bob!

Bob the Bus’s new Saturday service got off to a flying start on 27th May.

Mrs C Clarke was first on board, quickly followed by another 8 Follaton residents. Totnes philanthropist Graham Walker was on hand with some specially-designed merchandise, and there was an air of celebration as Helen’s lemon drizzle cake was passed round.

the charity is keen to recruit more

Chair of trustees Steve Grove said: “We’ve started the new service in response to passenger demand, so I’m delighted that we carried 56 passengers on our first morning”.

The Saturday morning route provides an hourly service to Totnes town centre for Follaton and Bridgetown. Passengers can be dropped off anywhere along Fore Street and High Street. The bus also calls at the railway station and Steamer Quay.

Passengers can pick up a Saturday timetable on the bus, online, or at Tourist Information.

Almost all of Bob’s weekday and weekend services are operated by volunteer drivers, and the charity is keen to recruit more of them. If you have a few hours spare, please email bobthebushire@yahoo.com or phone 07800 745332.

Training and support is given to new drivers, and hours can be arranged to suit your availability.
